2012 General Assembly Documents
Proposed Book of Government Revision
The 32nd General Assembly (2012) received the first draft of a proposed revision to the Book of Government from an Ad Interim Committee appointed by the Moderator of the 29th General Assembly. The Assembly instructed that the draft be sent to Sessions and Presbyteries for "study and comment including corrections, additions and/or other pertinent information, to be submitted to the Committee Chairman () by December 31, 2012." Input received will be thoroughly reviewed by the Committee and a revised draft prepared and sent to the 33rd General Assembly for approval. Descending Overtures from 32nd General Assembly
Constitutional Amendments approved by the 32nd General Assembly (June 2012) are sent to the Presbyteries as Descending Overtures. They may be debated with regard to their approval, but may not be amended. Approval of each Descending Overture by three-fourths of the Presbyteries (nine out of eleven) is required, followed by ratification by the 33rd General Assembly (2013).
Position on "Preventative Care Mandate"
The 32nd General Assembly took the following position regarding the regulations put forth by the Department of Health and Human Services on February 15, 2012 under the 2010 Affordable Care Act.
