Giving Time & Talents

We serve with our time and abilities. We make Christ Lord when we spend time looking out for the needs of others. “Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.” (Ephesians 2:4).  The Holy Spirit gives us abilities—spiritual gifts—with which to serve one another.

Ask God whether your giving of time and abilties is in proportion to your spiritual gifts.  How can you express your love for Him better? Be so bold as to say to your pastor or elders “How can I serve God here at my church?” Elders and Ministers also have the opportunity and responsibility to give their time and abilities in service to the larger church in the presbytery and General Assembly.

Contact your presbytery to learn about opportunities to serve regionally.

There are numerous opportunities to serve nationally through the Committees of the General Assembly. If you are a Elder or Minister look through the descriptions below. There are also opportunities below for lay people with skills and interest in women's ministries, youth ministries, Christian education and publications, college ministries, and world outreach. If you sense the Lord calling you to serve, contact your church or presbytery to seek their confirmation of that call and their nomination to serve.
