"Clinics in a Can" arrived safely in South Sudan

In the December 2011 edition of EPNews, we reported on the efforts of Covenant Presbyterian Church (EPC) in Omaha, Nebraska  (CPC) to help the Methodist Health System reach South Sudan.  "Clinics in a Can" is a small hospital made from three 40-foot shipping containers.  The journey began in August 2011 when Joseph Dumbame, MD, a family medicine physican at Methodist Physicians Clinic - Indian Hills, members of Covenant Presbyterian Church, and the Healing Kadi Foundation began the task of raising $65,000 needed for shipping the containers and site preparation.

From Associate Pastor, Kevin McDonald, Covenant Presbyterian Church (EPC), Omaha, Nebraska (CPC), are highlights of the results of their efforts:

  • Praise the Lord !!!
  • The “Clinics in a Can” have safely arrived in Kejo Keji, South Sudan!
  • VIEW THE GREAT PICTURES to rejoice over and thank God for with the arrival of this Hospital of Hope!

  • Pray for the Healing Kadi Foundation/Covenant Presbyterian Church Medical Mission Team as they now prepare to go to the Clinics to prepare them to start seeing patients with the help of the Christians in Kejo Keji led by Bishop Anthony Poggo.
  • We thank God for all the prayers from CPC members, the Evangelical Presbyterian Church World Outreach Committee, and for those around the world who have prayed mightily on behalf of this Healing Kadi Foundation medical mission.
  • We thank God for all of the Christians in Kejo Keji, South Sudan, who went to the site DAILY praying for safe arrival of the “Clinics in a Can”.
  • Truly, we all witnessed a modern day miracle of God before our very eyes!
  • THE LORD IS GOD, AND HE HAS MADE HIS LIGHT SHINE UPON US! O GIVE THANKS T0 THE LORD, FOR HE IS GOOD; FOR HIS STEADFAST LOVE ENURES FOREVER (PSALM 118:28-29)!

Clinics in a Can (http://www.clinicinacan.org/) is a great work of Hospitals of Hope (http://www.hospitalsofhope.org/) in Wichita, KS. I've had the blessing of working with them during a Spring Break missions trip with students from Wheaton College. Great work all around!
