Special Holiday Offerings
Each year, the EPC sponsors two special offerings during the year-end holiday season; one for Thanksgiving and one for Christmas. Each offering is designated for a specific purpose. Thank you for your support of these special causes in EPC life!
The Thanksgiving Offering supports a project approved by the General Assembly each June, alternating between World Outreach and Church Planting and Revitalization.
The 2016 Thanksgiving Offering was designated for the “GO Center Coaches Network.” The national ministry of the GO Center reaches into every EPC presbytery, and the volume of churches already in process is significant—with many more to come. There is a pressing need to develop an infrastructure of church vitality coaches to lead the revitalization efforts of participating churches. To date, roughly ten coaching candidates have surfaced and are being trained to serve.
More than 50 church leaders signed up for a General Assembly luncheon that presented this unfolding ministry need and opportunity. Given the numbers of needs and responses, the GO Center Team is forming a GO Center Coaches Network, which will significantly expand the ministry capacity and effectiveness of the GO Center. The network will recruit, train, mobilize, and monitor church vitality coaches and provide a connectional platform for support, encouragement, peer accountability, and fellowship.
CHRISTMAS (GRATITUDE GIFT)
The EPC's annual Christmas offering supports the Gratitude Gift Fund, which helps retired EPC ministers and missionaries in need. When grief or pain inpact the lives of these faithful shepherds, the blessing of financial assistance is a tangible way to show that others care. Bulletin inserts are available from the Office of the General Assembly for churches that desire to participate.
